Parent Volunteers Needed for Halloween Window Painting

FMA would like to provide free snacks to the kids participating in the Scarsdale Halloween Window Painting event in the Village center next Sunday 10/16 @ 9am-4pm. We just need parent volunteers to make it happen! Please email Debra Asher-Zitrin at fmascarsdale@gmail.com by Mon 10/10 if you're available to help next Sunday so we know if we have enough volunteers to run with this. And if you’d like to help with planning, let us know that, too!

Thanks in advance for helping FMA bring special moments to Scarsdale’s student artists!

FMA Announces Dr. Jason Noble Music Fund

FMA is establishing an endowed fund to honor Dr. Jason Noble’s 15-year legacy as band director of Scarsdale High School, where he successfully led over 150 students each year to make great music.

During his tenure, Dr. Noble grew participation in the program by challenging students’ expectations of themselves and by creating a safe space for students to learn and grow. He worked with teens, 9th-12th grade, expanding their horizons through exposure to challenging compositions, to renowned guest conductors, to international travel, and to regular performance.

Dr. Noble’s teaching is inspired by the views of his mentor, Maxine Greene, who believed that arts education promotes students to be “wide awake” and that “creative thinking and imagination” enable “students to engage in the world not as it is but how they may want it to be.”

Funds will be designated annually to offset costs for travel programs, performance, compositions and band music.  FMA thanks Dr. Noble for his incredible and positive impact on the lives of children in Scarsdale and wishes him joy in his next adventure, teaching at the college level.

Give today and your gift will be matched!

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT! Recommended for 4th grade and up.
